I’m a very active attorney and a member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association, Black Entertainment, and Sports Lawyer Association, and The New York City Bar Association.

I am a former thesis leader, photojournalist, and a member of my school’s official college publication.

As a multicultural attorney, with immigrant parents from Italy and Cote D’Ivoire, I’m fully fluent in French, Italian, and Spanish. I lived, studied, and worked internationally in the US, the EU, and Africa.

Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, one of the top art schools in the nation.

I wrote, directed, and produced two documentaries (N*gga What? and The Choking Game) which were screened in Texas and New York City.

Operations Manager

My name is Kenyi, I am the Operations Manager at Yao Law Group, where I bring together my expertise in law and case management from Yao Law Group and my background in business management to support our clients and our team. I began my career here as a Legal Administrative Assistant, and my dedication and adaptability allowed me to progress through roles as Junior Paralegal and Head Paralegal, ultimately preparing me for this leadership role of Operations Manager within the firm.

With a degree in Business Management, I’m passionate about applying strategic business practices to optimize our operations. At Yao Law Group, I have learned the value of being client-oriented and understand the importance of not only providing excellent service but also maintaining clear, prompt communication and addressing all client concerns with empathy.

Being in the immigration field holds special meaning for me, as I come from a family of immigrants who came to this country in search of a better future. This personal background strengthens my commitment to every client’s journey. Whether I am answering a question or guiding someone through the legal steps of their case, I find joy in supporting those seeking to build a life in this country of opportunity.

This role allows me to bring together my dedication to both business management and client service, and I am proud to be part of a team that values excellence, compassion, and a client-centered approach.

Hershey Tayao

My name is Hershey and I am a Paralegal and passionate Legal Writer who works with numerous international and award-winning artists.

I was a former Legal Intern at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Bulacan Chapter, the national organization of Philippine lawyers that provides pro bono services in civil and criminal cases.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Legal Management from one of the premier state-operated institutions of higher learning in the Philippines. I am a former thesis leader, photojournalist, and a member of my school’s official college publication.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, watching movies, reading books, traveling, and being an adrenaline junkie!

Adriana Grullon

Legal and Marketing Assistant

My name is Adriana, and I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Biology from the State University of New York at Albany.

During my time at Yao Law Group, I aim to deepen my understanding of the legal field, particularly in the area of immigration law.

As a first-generation college graduate, raised by immigrant parents who did not have the opportunity to pursue higher education, I have developed a strong appreciation for the challenges immigrants face.

This personal background provides me with a unique and empathetic perspective on the immigration process, and I am enthusiastic about contributing meaningfully in this role.

Maria Ensomo

Legal Administrative Assistant

My name is Maria and I am a passionate and dedicated Legal Administrative Assistant with a strong background in legal support and office management.

I excel in preparing and proofreading legal documents and conducting thorough research. Known for my attention to detail and proactive approach, I anticipate our clients’ needs, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

My strong communication skills and understanding of legal procedures allow me to provide valuable support to our team and clients.

Always eager to learn and adapt, I keep herself updated on industry trends, making me a reliable partner for our clients in navigating the complexities of the legal world.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and over 4 years of experience working for premiere law firms, including Yao Law Group.

Zia Kaye M. Bustaliño

Legal Writter

My name is Zia, and I currently serve as a Legal Writer at Yao Law Group. I specialize in legal writing and juridical research, with a strong commitment to clarity, precision, and purpose in every legal text I produce.

I earned my Juris Doctor degree from Holy Name University, a distinguished institution in Bohol, Philippines, known for its dedication to academic excellence and ethical leadership. In addition, I completed a workshop with ClientEarth Asia Climate and Energy, a legal advocacy initiative that uses the power of law to support Asia’s clean energy transition and protect its natural ecosystems.

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I bring a diverse and inclusive perspective to my legal work, grounded in advocacy and integrity.

Brett Thompson

Head of the Billing Department

My name is Brett Thompson, and I am the Head of the Billing Department. With a background in Psychology, I bring a people centered perspective to financial operations, making sure our processes are accurate, efficient, and easy for clients to navigate.

I grew up in the Midwest, where I developed a strong work ethic and a commitment to reliability. In my role, I focus on combining attention to detail with strategic oversight, ensuring that billing operations run smoothly and align with both client needs and organizational goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors, and I find balance in the simple things, whether it’s cooking a meal at home, caring for my cats, or discovering unique finds through thrift shopping. Live music is another passion of mine, offering both inspiration and connection to the community.

This role allows me to bring together my background in psychology, my leadership skills, and my dedication to precision, and I am proud to contribute to a department that values excellence, dependability, and client focused service.
